Raising Awareness for Childhood Cancer

August 2017

On Monday, August 28, 2017, Denver’s City Council passed a Proclamation recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Councilman Debbie Ortega and Council President Albus Brooks co-sponsored the Proclamation.

Team Nathaniel was there to speak on behalf of childhood cancer patients and their families to raise awareness about the challenges and lack of treatments available to our precious children diagnosed with cancer. Our goal is to bring the conversation to the forefront and highlight the fact that once a child is diagnosed with cancer, the options are extremely limited to only three potential treatments. This is incredibly low compared to what is available for adults. The more we work to raise awareness, the greater chance there is to expand treatment options and save more children’s lives.
